Yep they are on there way.

So you get a bit of glare from your headlights in the rain and snow well not any more. Now your lights will know when there's a rain drop in front of it and when there's not, yes that's right smart headlights.

They do say there is less light but it will not shine back at you. Wonder if they can apply it to fog as well!
