Do it wrong and you die. Do it right and you experience 7 G's.

your 13 y/o isnt the only one who wants a go. I'm up for it.

An anticipated 7Gs would explain the apparent lack of suspension I guess

doesnt look too difficult - i suspect getting up enough speed would be the biggest challenge - I am definately up for it!

Vertigo would have this oldish codger stuffed. He he right way up for me, 30 years ago might have been a different matter Umm. More like an eyes shut experience for me I reckon if I was game enough.

Great summary and just makes me want to do it even more <g>

I'm calling BS. Cars not going quick enough to pull 7G let alone get "round" the loop. Something not quite right 'bout the whole thing.

I agree, even watching it it doesn't look right.

Looks fine to me. The thing with doing loops is you only want to be going very slightly faster than the minimum speed required to complete the loop. They do the math very very carefully before hand to get this right.
Its very easy to over stress the driver and the loop by going even a little too fast.
You will generally find they try and make the car as light as possible as well, this helps cut down the centripetal force and helps the loop structure remain intact. Another smaller/slower loop setup I saw had a car pulling 6G so I don't see any problem with this setup resulting in 7G.

Now I am no expert on this butdo know speed is only part of the equation, the degree of the turn is the other factor.
To calculate gforce we use the diameter (20 metres) and the speed of the rotation. Lets say they did the loop in 4 seconds, then this would be a g-force of 5.04. If they did the loop in 3 seconds then this would be a gforce of 8.96. Time the loop for yourself and decide the g-force involved.
Science aside Tanner Foust would want to do it for real - he is a stunning xgames driver.
