Hey guys you may have heard that auckland raceway. The indoor kart track in Henderson went bust a few months back. All the carts and gear were sold off. Well the drift cart guys from Hamilton have taken over the venue. Basicly its like racing an indoor go cart with NO grip in the corners so you are on oposite lock sliding the kart whilst trying not to loose pace. heaps of fun. Heck now we have a drift kart trackan electric go kart track and two "normal" go kart tracks in dauckland. NO I am not associated with them in any way

awesome. I would be keen. Last go cart circuit i did in Rotorua the guys got shirty cause I kept sliding their stupid little go carts around the corners. I thought the whole point to them was to drive them hard and have fun. apparently you were supposed to drive them around like a nana. Why would anyone pay to drive around a race track sedately! Off to google blastacars. Sounds like fun. Thanks for letting us know Kaz.

Recently went to the one in Hamilton and had a blast. My only complaint if you can call it that was my kart would want to spin violently under heavy braking, I suspect one wheel may have been locking up really early.
That said, it always wanted to spin in the right direction for most of the corners so it just became an interesting driver aid once I got used to it.
We had the track to ourselves which was great with a younger person with us (10) and his kart had a transponder and rev limiter which was great as it gave us a fair go at passing on the straights without limiting him in the corners.
Fun getting your lap times at the end too, most fun I have ever had in a hair net.

Very true, I had to eat a lot of humble pie when my boy started kicking my butt on the dirt bikes!

Ouch, how did you manage that. And I bet ACC said it was degenrative and refused to pay for treatment:!

ACTUALLY---keeping in mind Ive got 4 boys there was passionate arguments about who "won" last night. Aparently its not who doesn't crash and does the most laps -its all about who does the most "stylee" drifts. Now how do we define "stylee" ! --the kid that kept doing 360's or the kid that hung it out on all the corners or. Mehhh-its not my thing. I'm all about finding what grip their is and getting the darned thing lapping as fast as possible. So Yea it was fantastic. And what a FANTASTICplace to teach kids car control. Yea a "real" car is bigger and heavier but basic principles are being learned. Throttle/brake/ steering control

Humping a case onto the conveyor on day 1 of a long trip - last MAY!Three months of agony whilst away.X-Rays etc. back in NZ in early September and yes, ACC did pay for the steroid injection for bursistis and weekly physio visits to a leggy blonde!
As you get older, repairs seem to take longer.

looks like you got lucky. Ah ok, I can understand them sorting that. Not too much cost as opposed to if they were going to have to repair the tear. Then they would have backed out of it.

Hey I reckon that would be great fun

As you get older, you get heavier. (My cooking is pretty good, and I do it all in our household, so that doesn't help.)Now hovering around 85kg, whereas a couple of years ago, that was my upper limit, so we should consider weight/age handicaps!
kazbanz,

Argueably the exersize for reducing weight could mean more kids :-)
