seriously what a question op take your battery cover off and see if there are extra terminals on the battery will be just the one if there isnt a trickle charger installed *hint* the battery cover is not the one that is filled with oil

You might have to treat yourself to a trip to welly and ride home.I know a guy down in westport with 1 .He and his Mrs are both quite tall and i havent heard them complain about the ride . Harleys arnt my thing but i think the xr1200 is slighty taller than the 1200 sportster so that might help out the longer legs .I reckon nows the time to buy before every1 wants 1 for summer. Wellington's a bit of a hike for a test ride. I've never had a Harley either but have ridden a couple of late model Sportsters recently which put a smile on my dial - kinda like the character (agricultural) feel to the whole thing, but not so keen on the total lack of ground clearance for cornering so would be interesting to try one that can go round corners.

tjfs- you have probably already sussed it out but how about taking a picture of these plugs. I did wonder about trickle charger and maybee theres been accessory lights all over the bike.--pics of what the plugs look like will help

As in a picture's worth a thousand words - and less likely to get anyone offended or misunderstood !I'm wondering if the "two cables" are in fact two single wires (red and black) and maybe with an extra sheath, each with a single terminal but yep, a picture would help.

Sorry I haven't looked in here for a while, thanks for your contact on my auction. Nice looking XR but think I will end up with a Tiger or maybe even 1100 Multistrada - something with plenty of legroom without going feet forward (still struggle with that). - cheers
