I am looking high and low for exhaust extraction for my '71 Cougar (canadian)- Left hand drive, running a 351 Clevo and FMX trans. The original extractors off a '72 aussie ford 351C (that was in the car when I bought it) have big cracks in them, and engine is now a '76-ish aussie ford 351c. (not sure if the years make any difference, so I am including them anyway). So my question is. Are Windsor headers so different that they wont fit Cleveland!Or is it the Right hand/ Left hand drive issue that's more important!Or overall length of headers/extractors!(eg.Half headers, block huggers, shorty's, etc)How do I know (as a beginner) what I should be looking for to purchase!
Also, at the moment, redoing whole exhaust system is not an option. Thanks in advance.

Your cheapest option may be some second hand manifolds and new front pipes. Plenty of header options out there, but they will set you back $500 to $1000 by the time they are fitted and joined up to the rest of the system

Thanks Thunderbolt.Even second hand manifolds are hard to come by, and almost as expensive as new ones.I dont mind paying for quality, but not at the risk of getting the wrong part.Does that make sense!

Your best option is to ask some questions on some of the online ford forums, they are filled with people that have found out what works and what doesnt.
You may even find someone who has some old manifolds to sell.

first, is your car a 2V or 4V. Performance Parts, Papakura, sell a cheap american range of headers, Hedman headers. they will fit your car. i think they are around the $450 mark
