you have seven days. Write up a receipt for yourself and the buyer putting as much info as possible on it and date and time of signing, put the mileage at time of signing to help if a speed camera is involved, both sign the lot and keep a copy each and complete the proper change within seven days.

Keep a set of forms in the glove box so if you 'suddenly' decide to sell or buy you have the papers.

Thanks everyone, we wrote it all down, they signed & we signed, got copies each showing time exchange took place, all good & the buyer will go to the post shop in the morning, was a nice guy but didn't have a credit card so couldn't do it online.

Good luck I would be checking today that it has been changed if its not you are liable for all the fines that your car gets. I sold my car to a nice guy that was a wrecker he said he would change the papers over cost me $2500 in fines that I had to pay
