OHH is it really!Try buying a decent mid nineties corolla/pulsar for less than 3k --and I do say decent not some beaten up smoke belcher

While I agree with what Kazbanz say's in fairness you can set up a bank loan to have much the same flexibility as the credit card. (like you are pointing out here)

I am a little rusty on this now but a rough rule of thumb was under 5K was cheaper on a credit card and over 5K you were better off with a bank loan. This assumed you were paying it back over 2-3 years.

Those are also absurdly over priced. You have picked about the two most overpriced vehicles of that age available in NZ.

3K can buy a huge amount of car if you cut through all the wives tales and nonsense.
