Paddon began day two 1.5s behind the Finnish champion elect but lost ground when the engine in his Skoda Fabia Super 2000 dropped onto two cylinders nearing the finish of stage five. The New Zealander, who heads the SWRC title standings, then endured further anguish when he was momentarily unable to restart his car at the stage stop line.

Hayden Paddon has retired from SWRC due to engine (VW Skoda) problems with his car
Jazz wishes he had a Suzuki motor instead

Hayden Paddon "Sorry everyone but our Rally Finland is over. Our engine dropped onto 2 cylinders 2km from end of SS5 and despite trying to limp to service, it seems that it is terminal. We are not allowed to fix or replace the engine as per the Super Rally rules. Very gutting as the car was feeling so good and there was a lot more speed to come. At least the times were good but now really determined for the next round. Thanks everyone"
Real shame. Better luck next round Hayden.

Bummer, but might not be too bad overall. 2nd & 3rd in championship have both had a DNF so they even now.

Are Skoda Motorsport spending the euros on developing turbocharged engines now ! There was some doubt asVolkswagen Motorsport was developing a turbo 1600 for the Polo wrc. The NA 2 litre engines are old school.

One of Hayden Paddon's fellow swrc competitor's cars looks like it will need a bit of cut and polish before the next round. Suomi! is such an expressive language. http://youtu.be/2biL_8EK2os
