Just wondering whether I can use LPG instead of acetalyne on my gas plant, if so, can I run it through the acetalyne regulator!

If you are planning on soldering instead of welding, go ahead. Assuming you can fit the acetylene reg to the LPG bottle which I doubt is possible, let alone safe or even legal.

my plumber friend has lpg and he recons its no where near as good as oxy acetylen. You can fill any DX bottles at supagas dont return em to boc they take them off you and scrap em.

If you are doing a lot of cutting LPG / Oxy is way more economical. It's not as hot sure but I did years of cutting, especially 90lb railway iron for wharves, retaining walls and foundations and cost wise there's no comparison. We used acetylene regs but changed the bullnose.

Agreed. Lots of cutting Lots of thin panel work General heating/ bending on mild steel Temp jobs can be done ok on the acet reg's but much better on correct lpg regs & tips
Mostly 'bull at the gate" = brutish jobs

You can screw you acetylene regulator straight into the old style LPG bottles with threaded tap,for gas cutting and heating you just change your cutting tip, they will fit a std cutting torch they have12 slots for the flame and cut cleaner and faster than acety. You cant gas weld using LPG,.
