Don't do what I did,and that was buy a cloth cover, because they move when the cat walks on it and their instinct is to put there claws out for grip. Consequently you end up with scratched paint

If it's fitted, it sits tight across the car, doesn't move if a cat walks on it and they can't get underneath it. Added bonus is that if you're not using the car for prolonged periods, the cover keeps the dust/garage debris off it too.
I also have one of those electronic sonic alarm things as cats were getting into my old garage and spraying everywhere. it worked really well.
