Thats a HUGE carb (being a double pumper) for a 308.unless its a pretty serious motor! youd be better off putting a 525 or 500 on,better response and fuel economy.Just a thought.we see over carbing on cars all the time

lumpster, Jul 21, 9:41pm
The car is a real SLR Torana putting out justover 400 HP.Strengthened M21 & 9 inch from stealy gears.

You must mean steely gears, I didn't think they were that expensive.

cuda.340, Jul 21, 10:05pm
if it is 400 hp then that 650 will be fine, fit a regulator (not the holley brand) & set to 7 psi & it should be all good. what electric pump are you using!

lumpster, Jul 21, 10:07pm
Sorry steely gears. No not too expensive but very nice work.

lumpster, Jul 21, 10:22pm
Oh dear I have just fitted a holly brand but will be upgrading later on to a fuel pump I just want the car running a the mo it will be another year before she's back on the road. It's running around 6psi

quickstitch, Jul 21, 10:40pm
if we are correcting. Steelie Gears

Love your work QS

patiki1, Jul 21, 11:01pm
Holley regulators are fine, its the procomp one's to which out for.Good luck with the M21 with 400HP

attitudedesignz, Jul 21, 11:05pm
Was thinking the same thing myself.

cuda.340, Jul 21, 11:20pm
if you ever pull a Holley regulator apart you'll quickly see it's a poorly made item from a rough as guts casting. compare with a Mallory which is similar money & you'll notice a much higher quality of build & also notice the Mallory will out flow/perform a Holley anyday. if you look at serious racers in motorsport, it's not likely you'll see many Holley regs.

patiki1, Jul 22, 1:34am
Ive had my holley regulator for over 20 years now and still going strong.Holley has Billet Fuel Pressure Regulators which serious racers would use.
