Doesn't sound that bad really, in fact it is nice to see a relatively normal looking electric car instead of the completely weird designs a lot of EV folks are obessed with producing! It is a pretty chunky car to choose though

The old commawhore is a good platform in NZ for electric cars. Popular makes and if you can get a decent sized car to run well on battery then why not. The thought of running out of oil with no real alternative in sight is scarey. I can imagine streets full of gun toting gangs looking for their next meal.
What they really need to concetrate on is getting trucks and planes working with this or other technology. Coz thats whats going to be needed once the oil runs out.

I couldn't agree more, i work at Mitsi and got the chacne to drive the miev before it was launched back in march, and although I was impressed by the acceleration and the regenerative braking of the vehicle the car is butt ugly.

The electric motors in a train are driven by great big generators, which are driven by great big V10/V12/V16 diesels.

Actually Kiwi rail do have a few V8sthe DBrs and I guess you could with a leap call the units in wellington self contained.Overseas there are a few hybrid locos ie prius likeand in the old days nzr had some battery powered shunters
