Does anyone know of a good product that I can use on my windows in the car to get all the water stains etc off. Just bought the car and I think it might have been sitting outside for awhile. We did use a product that u put on like a cream but not much help.

I use liquid metal polish called "wicked" and a hand drill mounted 6inch metal buffing wheel made from cloth, it brings them up like brand new. Ive tryed heaps of differnt acids ect but nothing works like the buffer and polish there so clear you wouldnt think there was a window there.

use a water based cutting compound that the car painters use to polish the glass with a cheese cloth. I detailed cars for 5 years and it was the ONLY thing that worked properly to get water stains off glass.some people will tell you all sorts of wives tales and voodo concoctions but they dont work. whip down to your car painter and ask for some cutting paste.water it down to a gravy thickness and polish glass. then wash with water and then good old mr muscle glass cleaner to finish

the water based cutting paste bites into the glass much better than any other normal polish. you can do it by hand easily

Sweet ill remember that, i just used what I had on hand for polishing the truck chrome and it has heaps of chrome so we got the buffing wheel to speed the job up and stop the arm cramping up. The truck windows were so bad you couldnt see out if the sun was on them but they were like new when i finished.

the crap is lime scale and white vinegar is good but you need a fair bit, also i use a razor blade to scrap most of it off, sometimes the damage can be unfixable

WRONG! the vinegar only removes the white crap from the etched glass. it doesnt actually remove the etching.you need to polish it to get the glass flat again

No. The local panel and paint shop is NOT a retail outlet.

I have to agree with cutting compound. I remember ages ago I was polishing a car of mine and I accidentally got some polish on the windscreen (which had a lot of water spots) so I tried to wipe the polish off which made the section of window greasy as hell. I decided to try a clean cloth and with a bit of a rub presto, an amazingly clean patch of window. Spent ages doing all windows and man what a difference!
