Why would you do this?

Why spend 50K creating a replica of a car that could have been brought for far less. It also looks a little manky. Any thoughts!

Assuming it's well done, it could be way better (mechanically) than an original. Given that all work was new, the price you should compare it to would be a new evo, and that's not less than $50k.

Custom paint, custom interior, custom suspension, full engine and trans work, maybe ICE, $50k could be eaten real fast on any car.

I'd say elements of the description are untrue. Doesn't look like it has had a rebuild, and I can't see $50k. Present owner can get away with saying that's what previous owner told him. But I do realise cars can be sinkholes for lots of dollars when men fall in love with them.

Sure someone else has already spewed at this one.

Just curious, does the 45,000km account for what the engine has done or the chasis!

flitt, Aug 9, 8:47am
Then again, I suppose the said rebuild was 12 years ago, so it may be harder to see evidence of.

All that money and he's left a clip off the airbox.

duke250, Aug 9, 8:55am
Well considering you can buy a real evo 6.5 off trade me for that price, it seems crazy 2 me.

smac, Aug 9, 9:04am
Which bit's crazy! They're not asking that much, they're saying that much was spent, over a decade ago. Back then, that's what they were worth.

Its a nice yellow though.

Hides the vomit when you throw up on it

un_known, Aug 9, 12:38pm
the lack of rear flares really gives it away.Maybe the big EVO 6.5 stickers helps convince people.

rob_man, Aug 9, 12:43pm
If it's the one I think it is, it started out white.

trogedon, Aug 9, 12:55pm
Most did.
What about the diced carrots (in the vomit)! It wouldn't hide them. They're always there.in the vomit.
