Why are some trailers built with no springs?

i have had both types of trailers, loaded with a 1500 kg stockcar. with unsprung trailers, you tie the car down by the wheels and let the cars suspension do the work, with sprung trailers you tie the car down so the springs are compressed so that they dont work against each other.
it makes sense cos as the car is coming down and the trailer is coming up and vice versa they do tend to fight against each other
The other thing to make sure is to get enough weight forward, as i have found a trailer that is too light on the tow ball will tend to fishtail

the wheels on that trailer were 14" allso i made that trailer inc reg and wof for under $300. Sold it to a guy and he put his brand new harley on it. i seen him about a year latter and no coplaint about the trailer he was happy with it. So i dont know mabe yours was a lemon!
