what model nissan and whats the problem. Some suffer from dry joints and are easy enough to re-solder yourself if you know how to solder.

I had trouble with my Mercedes one but just brought one from Autohaus in Phonex insead. They usually suffer from a silica build up on the hot wire if it is that type

on the side of the throttle body is the airflow meter, (yes all you diy'ers this air flow meter(actually a mass sensor) is on the throttle body)
you can usually put slight pressure on the plug and the car can cut out, Pull it off and get it recon'd most auto sparkys will do this job for you, also get a coolant temp sensor and replace that at the same time, (these fail and the ecu thinks its -41 deg and throws lots of fuel in and floods the motor

You can fix it yourself, cut out rtv holding the aluminum cover with a sharp blade, and carefully lever it out.
This video shows the usual problem:

Resolder it, may as well check everything else out while it's open, and clean the MAF hot wire and temp sensor while you can get to them easily.
Stick the aluminium cover back on, and seal with RTV.
If you're flexible, you can do it on a GA15DE without even removing the MAF from the throttle body - it's just a little cramped getting to it.
