False advertising or ?

Dont you hate it when the vehicle is advertised at 150000kms and as you read the blog it goes on to say the body has done 345000kms but the motor has done 150000kms out of a later model vehicle of a similar type. This has got to be "not right"advertising !

as long as they clearly mention both the k's on the body and engine i dont see a problem.

True but the main advert has the lower ,false mileage while you have to read the details to learn the true mileage of the vehicle and the true mileage is the true mileage not the reduced motor mileage.

Anybody who is seriously considering buying a vehicle will read more than the headline.

Yes, it is a dopey thing to do!

Can't win. Some people will care more about the k's the engine has done, some will care more about the body/interior.

Ads like that are rampant amongst Subarus i find particulary with B4's. There is dozens of late 90's early 2000's Subarus with the in the main heading 120,000km etc. Reading further usually reveals a second hand motor with "only" 120,000km was fitted and the body usually has 200,000km plus on it. Its a complete pain in my opinion. What about the gearbox, suspension components, clutch and all the rest! a 200,000km plus car with a 120,000km motor is still a 200,000km plus car in my opinion. Especially when the replacement motor is second hand its a complete lucky dip.

I dont think its right either, the odometer records how many km the vehicle has traveled not that particular motor.
