As long as it is a 25spline axle diff out of the non-turbo six cylinder. If it is from the V8 or Vl turbo then no it won't be a bolt in type job.

Skully, wots the difference! I have a mate that uses bits n pieces of commodore diff in his Valiant diff(s) and said something to me once about them being the same . same for Falcon bits fitting also. Is there a difference in BW's depending on what they came out in!

Center head has either 25 early 28 now spline centers

The BW78 diff in the VK and the non turbo VL six's is a 25 spline 2 pinion diff, the Turbo and V8 VL is a 28 spline 4 pinion diff. From VN on wards they are all 28 spline 4 pinion diff's. Falcons used the same diff as well as Valiants and some early Skylines (R30/31) used them as well. I understand the IRS Commodore centres will fit in the live axle diff as well. As long as you are using the same diff head and axle's (25 spline axle's with diff head etc) no matter what car it came from, it should fit.
