opinions much appreciated.i'm ignorant.

My 2003 525 arrived with Pirelli tyres on it (225/55R16 95V). I'm told they are hellishly expensive, although its hard to get a definite price, online at least.

Have visited one local seller that's keen on selling me Hankook K114 tyres at $242 each, fitted and balanced. He reckons they're pretty good tyres etc.etc.

Any opinions appreciated while i wait for other places to open tommorow.I do lots of miles (40k a year) and have a definite lean towards safety over performance.

Want good safe handling and braking in the wet.(as it seems to piss down up here a lot! :)Dont mind spending that $242 if the tyres are worth it, would spend a bit more if advice suggests I should.

Cheers

I got ATR Achilles Sports on my 2004 Legacy GT.

Wet grip is great. Noisyish (but not crazy for a low profiles) Dunno about wear yet but they seem to be good.

Online reviews indicate they're no good in snow.
