Anyone know a mechanic around Canterbury that would be keen on home job on a 91 2.4 surf to replace front main seal and rear man seal!

Probably not. Rear main seal will require a gearbox removal, front seal will require a cambelt removal. Both jobs are major. Might pay to check the rocker cover gasket and bolt tightness first.
