I'm sure I'm not the only one. who has had a member of the public approach you (when you're around your car obviously) and ask a strange question or have a strange request relating to your car! There must be some interesting stories out there.
Yesterday, I pulled into a car park and a guy and his mrs (late teens or early 20's) approached me as soon as I got out and he said "nice car bro". "Cheers mate" I said. without saying anything else he then asked "can I have a look under the bonnet!". I declined his request, mainly because his interest went straight to my engine and he didn't seem to have any interest about the actual car. The car is a sports car that's reasonably standard on the exterior. but there are a few "tweaks" under the bonnet ;)

Maybe they wanted to see if it was worth nicking.

When I had the Busa and ZX14 I was always asked, how fast does it go! There eyes always widen when you tell them LOL. And when I had my 68 mustang 289 they asked the same question, oddly there eyes almost closed with boredom when I told them how slow they are.

I had a random male approach my vehicle and started telling me how he owned one of them so many years ago. Then he said something and I realised he had mistaken it for another vehicle altogether. I said 'this isn't an X, it's a Y'. He said 'it is an X'. 'No, it's a Y', i said again. He took a step back and said 'oh, right, i see'. And then he walked off.

Its funny. when I am out and about in the Multipla I often get hot young things coming up to me and asking if they can have my babies.
extrayda,

Jazz, they are asking to have your babies as in take away the ones you have with you, in order to save them from the disease that is Fiat - although it could be genetic !

We can always rely on Jazz to make a post that gives everyone a cheap laugh lol
Are you sure that's not a CYF employee though! Trying to take your kids away for endangering their sense of taste and style

Do you hand them over!
thejazzpianoma,
Sep 3, 6:59pm
Ahh that might explain why they all rush to take their clothes off at the site of it. must be some sort of fear of contagion.

I parked my car in Takapuna recently, and a lady stopped to ask me when her WOF might be due. I referred her to the sticker on her window and the expiry date on it and she thanked my profusely and we went on our way. It all seemed slightly bizarre.

Oh the Irony. you do know what CYF employee's drive don't you!
(or at least used to drive, not sure what they drive now)

Yip, I am serious. Would have saved the country a small fortune in running costs too, not to mention being good for the odd speedy getaway.
You see the ex CYF's one's coming up now and then at Turners. You can usually spot them because the interiors usually have various missing bits of trim. I have even seen one with a torn out radio.

I had a kadett superboss with a wicked lumpy idle from factory, used to get a lot of the PFY's screeching about my 'rota' which was always a bit hard case
(pfy = pimply faced youths)
