Just got an infringement notice in mail. Speed camera caught me doing 63 in a 50 zone but i'm innocent.isn- 9;t everyone LOL.
It was on the north shore of dorkland, funny thing is I WASN'T EVEN IN DORKLAND.
On that day i did the following. Drive the 30k to drop twin 2 at work Drive home again. Take Starlet in to Smith & Smith to get windscreen replaced (12:30pm) Walked a couple of Ks to paint shop with lunch in hand. Get call from S & S at 2:57pm to say car will be ready at 3:40pm Text twin 1 to come pick me up so i can pick car up Pick car up, go pick up twin 1 from work. Drive home.
Now this "offence" happened at 2:26pm in my Hyundai, but when i got home at 4:30pm my Hyundai was sitting in my driveway.
So either the missus drove to dorkland and back in the worlds fastest Hyundai or they've got the plate number completely wrong.
Am i contesting this.you can bet ya left one.

Get the pic and you will have the proof
You will need it for proof anyway
The plate is highlightedvery well

It's all automated these days, computer works out the number, sends the infringement notice, it's completely hands-off. You'll have no trouble getting off, even if you write a letter they'll probably see that the colour of the car or the type of car doesn't match your plate and waive the fine. They'll then re-issue the ticket to its rightful recipient.

you'll see a pic of your missus and her toyboy.

Requesting photo takes about 4 clicks of a mouse.why are you ******* off! If time was an issue you wouldn't be posting here about it.

What irritates me is how many people would remember where and when they were in their car and just pay it.
If the system is not accurate they should be checked by hand. This is simply not good enough.

Why should i take 10 min's of MY day to request a photo' to prove MY innosence!

And therein lies the problem, we are guilty until we prove we are innocent, which in many instances is simply not possible. And this is what Jazz, Biker, myself, and many others have been trying to point out on these very boards for in some cases as much as ten years or longer, and all we keep getting in reply is garbage from plebeians that haven??

Maybe S&S did a bit of a road test to make sure the new screen was OK.!

Unfortunatelywith any traffic infringement you are deemed guiltyunless can provide overwhelming proof it wasnt your car . First thing is to request a photo of it & if it doesnt match yours then you have to send that to the appropiate authority atyour own time & expense with in the stated time, Do nothing &it getsworsepenalties for non payment/debt collectors. The onus of proof is on you

I would start out by simply asking them to print up the picture and read the rego number/ confirm the car make.

Yep, have requested photo'. I'm actually thinking 'bout requesting a hearing after i get the pic' just to waste everyones time.

I will expand slightly with my theory on the smoking bit (even tho it has 5/8th??

Different cars, S & S = Starlet Infringement = Hyundai.

As excuses go that is a pretty good one.Now just bend over, part your cheeks and take it because we know that the police are NEVER wrong. If you have the time just plead not guilty, get it in front of a judge because they hate their time being wasted by the coppers. Just costs you a bit of time and eats into their budget.
therafter1,
Sep 6, 12:34pm
There is a whole lot more than that. If you weren??
smac,
Sep 6, 12:35pm
Well, kinda of obvious, because if you don't you get stiffed with a fine.
As I said above, if you were really worried about the time you wouldn't be here.
Talk about mountain out of a molehill. Character on a plate gets misread (or mistyped), and suddenly we're talking tax shortfalls and police persecution.
You guys are shortening your own lives with this bitterness.lighten up.

As for THIS rant.wtf are you on about!! Not often you get so much, so wrong, in one post.

there aint no logic cos our MP's prob hotboxing the parliament while making up these none sense laws.

I would suggest you have a go at getting reasonable costs back if you do. Why should you have to pay fuel, postage, time away from work etc because the Police are not taking reasonable care before making accusations!

I can't stand cigarette's but I see your logic (especially the financial) and respect smokers rights to smoke so long as I don't have to pay for their smoking related health care or sit next to them smoking in a restaurant.
People need to wake up to the costs of over regulation, both economically and socially. Some regulation is necessary sure, but adding to the pile should not be done lightly and laws should regularly be reviewed in an effort to keep regulation to a minimum.
Unfortunately we have a political system that panders to small interest groups and poorly thought out ideas. We need leadership with the appropriate reproductive organs to actually listen to the math instead of the emotion.

No I'm not but yes I do. Smoking has killed at least a couple of my friends and family, and will kill at least one more in the next few years (my Dad).
Yes a tiny tiny minority will look to alternatives as the monetary hurt gets turned up. But that is a tiny tiny price to pay for the lives that can still be saved. I personally know 2 smokers who are grateful for the price increases, as it gave them the incentive they needed to quit.
Anywhoo, I'm struggling with the relevance here. Every time speed cameras come up somebody uses the phrase 'revenue gathering ' or words to that effect. It just makes those saying it look utterly stupid.
The NZ tax take last year was about 40 BILLION dollars. If anyone thinks the Govt would spend tens of millions of dollars just to scape up $100M in traffic fines you need your head read.
