Thats the biggest problems with beaurocrats, when they get bored with doing anything useful they head off in a tangent to justify their existance

so aftermarket balljoints, arms and bars and arms that remedy problems in vehicles with issues like death wobbles in the steering would be illegal. What about aftermarket shocks!
I'd like to see how many accidents are caused by aftermarket wheels, brakepads etc. I bet it's a pretty fat ZERO. I seriously think it's just a scare tactic because there is zero way something like that is feasible in the real world and it would cause a hellstorm if it went ahead

Interesting stuff. A few years ago a paper was written here in NZ that suggested post 2008 cars not be allowed any modifications bar sound system and cosmetic. It highlighted the fact most modern cars are fitted with several safety systems often affected by modifications. It did have scope for special purpose vehicles and legitimate race cars as well as room for after market direct replacement parts. Its still out there and may have a bit of a push again soonish

In general i tend to agree that there is no reason to "play around" with factory specs for so called improvements to handling and those muppets that must lower it or fit stupid wheels etc should have to be LVV certed.I see we now have FWD stuff running about with modified rear camber like about 30degrees.How can that be safe!

its not any more.you can only be .5 degrees more than max factory spec or its not legal. just came in
