If a vehicle failed on the 14th of August, when is the last date possible for a recheck, is it Monday the 10th (28 days includes 14th), or Tuesday the 11th (28 days excludes 14th)!

intrade, Sep 7, 2:00pm
its 28 days== 11

bitsy_boffin, Sep 7, 2:00pm
I know it's 28 days, but is it 28 days including the date of the initial test, or excluding the date of the initial test.

intrade, Sep 7, 2:01pm
it should tell you on the test sheet when the last day is

bitsy_boffin, Sep 7, 2:02pm
It doesn't.

bitsy_boffin, Sep 7, 2:05pm
Thanks.

Going to be cutting it fine on this one :-/

ceebee2, Sep 7, 2:15pm
Bear in mind also no insurance as it will not have current WOF until it passes the recheck.greatly overlooked by car owners.

johnf_456, Sep 7, 2:17pm
Only if the defect contributed to the accident.

bitsy_boffin, Sep 7, 2:21pm
A) as poster above says, the only if the defect contributes or causes the reason for claim
B) actually (unusually, naughty fellow I am) I have legitimately had off the road since the fail
C) it's not insured anyway

splinter67, Sep 7, 2:39pm
Ha thats a good laugh no wof no insurance try it John and come back and tell us how you get on and you will get a fine for no wof

msigg, Sep 7, 3:45pm
no he is correct.

splinter67, Sep 7, 3:50pm
So you are saying if I have no wof and I have an accident that my insurance will cover my carget real if your car has no wof you can not use it on the road only to take it for a wof check or to get it repaired and if you are right what company is the one that will cover you cause Im going to change to them

poppajn, Sep 7, 3:54pm
This post is 100% correct., no question,s, don,t argue, it is correct 100%.

splinter67, Sep 7, 3:55pm
Great tui add

shark574, Sep 7, 3:58pm
You have had too much tui.

They are 100% correct

splinter67, Sep 7, 4:01pm
Will someone tell my insurance company then cause they wont pay out when I got rearended I had a wof rego was two days out

bitsy_boffin, Sep 7, 5:43pm
This is quite off topic, but anyway.

Splinter, you are wrong, if your insurer really said that, just tell them you will take them to the insurance ombudsman, because what they are doing (as you describe it) is against the law.

This is regularly done to death here.Search for it.

Quite simply, the law states that your insurer can not do this.Insurers know this quite well.

Insurance Law Reform Act 1977, Section 11.
"[.]the insured shall not be disentitled [.] was not caused or contributed to by the happening of such events or the existence of such circumstances."

splinter67, Sep 7, 5:47pm
Only one problem with your pointI was not allowed to operate my car on a road because its not registered the same as your car no wof you are not allowed to use it on the road

bitsy_boffin, Sep 7, 5:54pm
Clearly you're not interested in helping yourself so I'm not going to bother helping you.

We have all said it plainly enough, if you want to let your insurers walk all over you breaking the law (ILRA1977SEC11), so be it.

johnf_456, Sep 7, 6:00pm
following me around again eh

therafter1, Sep 7, 6:02pm
A little bit of masochism of some sort happening here or what lol

therafter1, Sep 7, 6:03pm
Oh dear, I didn't realise that it was a private party ! . sorry John, I'll have to leave you to him.

kingfisher21, Sep 7, 6:04pm
Whatever, if you got rear ended then it was the other parties fault and their insurance would have to pay out.

johnf_456, Sep 7, 6:10pm
party is over

splinter67, Sep 7, 6:15pm
I was hit by an uninsured unregisteredno warranted car driven by a clown with no license my insurer (state) said we will look after you then checked my car saw it wasn't registered and told me to go jump illegal car not covered
