Remote will not work so got new battery and still not working. Got a new ford remote and that will not work either. Have reset the locks 50+ times tying to set the remotes. Locks don't seem to be normal but not sure as car is new to me and am unaware what they should do. Every time you close the drivers door the locks cycle but don't lock. So I know its not the remotes so where to look, the receiver or the locks. could it just be dusty locks or is there a common fault here.
Boot lock. Some times it works and some times it don't, not even a sound as if it is working.

i recently had similar issues and feared that the main control unit up in the top of the dash had gone. Luckliy after talking to some people on ford forums i found that the wire connection in the drivers door to the actuator just needed pulling apart and back together. easy to pull a door trim off and unplug the connection on each door and try the locks as you go. it only took that one connection to be faulty to cause the remote not to work at all. i couldnt even do the reset thing with the window demister button

If one of the doors aren't locking correctly it can cause that problem. As above, best to check all the actuators and see if they are all working correctly.
Also, what procedure have you done for programming the remotes in!

X 2 for a faulty door lock. On our particular one, it was the wagon latch which was working to slow, making all the lock cycle through their thing.
For us, crc was our friend.

Went to clean the lock mechanism but couldn't get the door panel off. Didn't feel like breaking it. Once screws are out does the panel just pop off!

Yes. Window switch out. 4x screws along the bottom behind caps, one in the door handle behind a cap, and 2 in behind the silver bit of trim on the handle thing you pull on to shut the door. Clips are usually quite tight so can take a bit of persuading. If drivers side, be very very careful when you unplug the mirror switch, very easy to break the bottom off it trying to unplug and even though it clips back together it breaks the internal and the switch will be all loose and won't work again. Everyone I've seen at work always breaks it the first time, myself included!

Press the rear window demister 5 times real fast. It resets the door locks.

If its like other door panels, they are also held with plastic clips/plugs- Just pull gently starting from the bottom and youll be able to see where it is 'holding on'- Then get your fingers either side of the plastic plug to support the door card and pull, it will pop out).the trick is to support the door card with your hands/fingers around where each of the plugs are to avoid them pulling out of the card.
