gold miners love the stuff, think it forms an amalgam and they can distill off the gold.
I had 10 kg of it at Uni, was fun floating bolts etc in it, but pretty disastrous to the old health I believe

Do you have a local dry ice blaster! That should clean it up really nicely, quickly and easily. Might do it reasonable if you were able to take it around at short notice when they called. They often wind up with some left over dry ice on a Friday that may not last very well until Monday.
