Finally done it

I have booked the Commodore in for a "Tune", I expect another 10-20Kw and much better economy, taking it up to 300Kw with the VCM intake. Anyone else done or had experience with this!

What was it before, and what was changed!

Who are you getting to do the work! sorry, seen it on the printout, what others mods are done to the car!

Yes! last week i booked in for 19th nzefi, turbo w/g G4 extreme 1600cc topfeed injectors etc and tune with meth injection. looking for 500+bhp will be finished and dyno'd end of month

Thats still enough grunt for scotty to pull down his trousers lol

Its is a tune (re-programme ECU) and a VCM cold air intake, nothing else, std exhaust etc

2007 VE V8 6.0L starts at 270kw std

We tune with vcm at my work on ford and holdens. Its a pritty good program the holdens have a good ecu standard. The intake over radiator kits make a good differance as does a decent exhaust

And what's the impact on economy!

kingfisher21, Sep 12, 6:58pm
They use less fuel, Holden run a very rich conservative tune standard. My LS1 puts out 312KW, and uses around 11l/100km on a trip.

Yep, its already better.

May sound funny however it has to do with NOx in the exhaust, and it is created with too high combustion temperature, so to get the temp down they throw in more fuel, so creating more CO2 to make less NOx.

No doesn't sounds funny at all. I realise better economy than factory is usually possible, I was just curious if you can do it without doing the exhaust as well.
