i know that the 98spec itr has better brakes and better factory headers and that, but what else is there to look into when it comes to the 2! and i havent heard much frm the 97spec range! is better then 96spec! as it dont seem as commen as 96/98 spec :)

97 is still '96 spec'
The 98 update also got different gear rations, 5 stud wheels (16"), a different rear bumper and a much nicer airbag steering wheel (if it came with an airbag)

yeah i knew about the 5x114.3 stud as apposed to the 4x114.3 , and airbags and cooler looking bumper but im mainly refering to the engine, internally are the cams the same! ecu much different! etc etc!

engine the same. i have 97 type r and is same as the 96 spec. 98 spec is a bit better than the 96 spec mainly due to slightly larger brakes and nicer 16 inch wheels. Ecu, cams the same.

oh right, just thought id ask anyways, but yeah the 98spec has the same exhaust sytem as well! should be slighlty quicker then 96spec correct! due to the headers are better ! (98spec larger and 4-1 design) (96/97 spec smaller 4-2-1 design) , also heard that 98 spec oem headers out perform a few aftermarket headers ! true or false

exhaust same except for headers. yes the 98 spec headers are very good but be carefull of scraping when lowering the car. yes they do out perform some aftermarket designs. Im not sure about which is quicker tho. 98 spec has airbags, bigger (and heavier) wheels, bigger disks so i reckon the 98 spec integra will be heavier. Iv driven/owned both and honestly cant tell the difference in power

guess what u say makes sense, more power but heavier, wonder what difference they have in poweroutputs on dyno! as the 96spec factory has 200BHP! same same for 98spec!

The low gears are shorter in the later cars, 4th and 5th are roughly the same

isnt that a disadvantage in a way for 98spec to shift ealrier! cause 96 will still be in tec while the 98 has to change ! :P

The shorter gears are an advantage on a car that makes power like an ITR
