The usual suspects

Speeding drivers on state highways will drive either a Faclodore or a Toyota Prado.is this some new rule I was not made aware of!.Please continue overtaking on blind corners, tailgating and not being content no matter what speed the rest of the road users are up to.I guess you gotta get to wherever you boof heads go in a hurry, but you could try leaving on time.
Special mention to the brave guy who tried applying a Prado driving style to his Pajero, truly you are a king for you made all other traffic on the road stop and swerve, I think the Prado club will welcome you with skills like that.
In honor of these great machines I've compiled a list of what makes them better than all other cars ever made ever, it reads as follows.

Thanks Man, its nice to be appreciated and recognised for your contribution.

Could it be you driving slowly not pulling over to let the faster traffic through. I bet your the type that speeds up in the passing lanes and you think your an awesome driver

rob_man, Sep 19, 8:21am
Sounds like one of those people blocking the highways in some old POS has got hold of an internet connection.

Now where are the rest of the Falcon and Dunnydore drivers!

C'mon guys, show yourselves and bathe in this glory of being part of this generic grouping of temporary citizens.

Jason18 (3 of them!), Clark, Gunhand, Mapman, Prawn (!) and the rest of you join the party.

Sorry DJ, no one will admit to owing a Pajero!

rob_man, Sep 19, 8:26am
Me me me. I have a Prado and like to travel at 100kph.

thunderbolt, Sep 19, 8:27am
I like to travel at 100kphalso Rob, but only in school zones.

Don't you just love the startled looks on their little faces. Their little eyes get so big.

djrandomguy, Sep 19, 8:30am
Nope, not an old pos at all, very able to speed as I have a right foot. This is me venting [and after all who hasn't used this MB for that].I passed people in the passing lanes and was content to go with the flow. However every time a Prado or Falcon/Commodore appeared in the rear view it was only a matter of time before they overtook on blind corners and on yellow lines, all this in the pouring down rain. Pajero guy even managed to bring traffic going the other way to a halt as he had nowhere to go.

Next time you make a long trip, see which type of cars are not content with 110/120. I bet you dollars to donuts the aforementioned autos are well represented.

You've seen the %'s of makes that make up the NZ vehicle fleet, right!

SO anyway, how is it you came to this startlingly accurate assessment! How many times did you drive the same piece of road, and what were the totals for each model for vehicles sighted, plus those you deemed unsafe/annoying!

djrandomguy, Sep 19, 9:40am
3 types of vehicles as previously stated. It was based on every trip out of Auckland on the Highway network over the past few years . Don't believe me then start your own tally. I guess you're right though, driving a 2.5 tonne 4wd in torrential rain and weaving in and out of your lane sounds perfectly sane. I, like anyone with an even slightly modern car can exceed the speed limit by quite a large amount if I so choose. Smac I suspect devil's advocate here.

I like to cruise along at 90k, mainly because it saves me a sh*t load in gas, and at the end of the day the extra time taken is minimal, but I do make every effort to get out of peoples way to let them pass, only to catch up with them later on

smac, Sep 19, 10:16am
A little bit perhaps, however my point is that trying to generalise on driver behaviour based on make/model simply by observing as you drive around is like a monkey doing algebra.there's just no way you can dress it up that will make it science. There are so many variables at play. Humans are REALLY bad at coming to 'trend' conclusions based on observation. There is just no way our little brains can handle things like the fact there are more Falcadores on the open road than many other makes put together. Is there some behaviour pattern related to the make! Maybe. Have you come even anywhere close to establishing what it is! Nope.

djrandomguy, Sep 19, 10:26am
everytime I see a Prado in the rear view mirror and I'm driving at the same pace as everyone else the Prado will pass EVERYONE, not just me.Maybe the interiors of them are not nice places to be and they want to get out really bad, who knows. watch Prados for a while and see if you're the passer or the passe [spelling!] -draw your own conclusion, I did, it made me feel awesome.

rob_man, Sep 19, 10:36am
To tell the truth, I never really take much notice of what type of vehicle catches up with me. I'm more focused on getting them in front of me and gone out of my danger zone.
It's also handy to have a judas goat in front to take the flak if there's any cops on the side of the road.

trader_84, Sep 19, 10:40am
Agree totally, and this is where a piggy little Lux will sit happily both from an RPM point of view and a diesoline usage one.

lazzo, Sep 19, 10:57am
I have a Falcon XR8 and I'm King Of The Road. :P

djrandomguy, Sep 19, 11:00am
Ha ha, make way for the king.

pollymay, Sep 19, 1:16pm
I drive a commodore and I speed often

This rustles the OP's jimmies.
