I am sitting my class 5 licence next week - Has anyone who has sat theirs recently got any advice for me!

As longas you obey the road rules, you can't fail. It is ridiculous how easy it is. Make sure the vehicle is up to scratch, as your RUCs, lights, tyres, etc etc will all be checked. Mine was over in about 10 mins. Good luck!

Read the "truck loading code" you will be tested on load security such as. twice the weight of the load in chains if its not loaded against a head board, - reading a cert tag to know the rating of tie down points, theres heaps of good info in there and its good to know the things in the book anyway because if the tester dosent get you for it the CVIU sure will.I did mine 10+ years ago but it was under the then new system of graduated licences, I doubt its changed much. My tester sent me into the city and made me go into intersections where you need to cross into the other lane and oncomming traffic to get around the corner, and reverse a truck and trailer into a yard on a busy street, its VERY nerve racking so stay CALM its part of the test.
