Good on you for saying so, sounds like the buyer was a bit of a twat if they asked for an AA check, if you are looking to buy any Jag, even the modern ones, you get a recognised specialist involved.Anything else is a waste of time.

Exactly and wont have a clue about that error of car and I have told the interested purchaser that Im not risking a pink sticker taking it there, they will have to send someone to me! crazy its a old car an rego is on hold

Trust me they are out there. There is a group of mechanically illiterate trendies out there who buy old VW Beetles, Minis, any of the Frenchies like Citroen GS, Renaults etc, and even early Jappas in a misguided attempt to be different to their mates who own anonymous imports, and have absolutely no idea of the frequency of maintenance and ongoing costs involved in keeping a sixties or seventies car in a fit state to be a daily driver, and then bleat that they have been sold a lemon and can't afford their daily lattes any more because they are giving most of their pay to the local garage.

You mean more complex than counting stone chips and checking the oil level on the dipstick!
