Are you sure your checking sensor 1 and not a post cat sensor. Have you tried performance testing the sensor! induce a fault or air leak and look for an expected response, pull the dipstick etc and observe the reaction, this wil at least tell you if the sensor is reacting as expected

600 for an O2 sensor! you must be joking! lets face it.its probably just a 4 wire heated o2 sensor.

a bosch LS06 sensor would probably do the trick.double check it though
If its got one of those boat anchor QD25DE engines in it, that among other things causes the ECU to have a spazz because of the cam/crank angle sensors going out of sync because of timing chain stretch, you might have an injector not shutting off properly, O2 sensor codes or odd readings from them are the giveaway.They aren't serviceable and the whole fuel rail needs replacing with it.$$$$$.
