Im looking at a 2007 Toyota Blade 2400cc. Are these good reliable cars! are parts easy enough to get in NZ! Any known problems/faults!
It has done 49k, I was suprised with the engine size. Would that sized engine use that much gas! The yearliy fule rating is about $2400, but unsure how many liter per 100km!

I'm picking this is the same motor as was in the camrys of this age and not renown for fuel economy. Seems once engine size gets over 2 litres fuel economy goes down. I had a 2.2 camry & best I could get was 9l/100km on a trip.

good power to wieght ratio, depends how you drive it, foot down not much, cruising should be god, better than the camry.

I'm not a great fan of the CVT transmissions in the 2.4 Blades myself - but that's a personal thing. For me, I'd rather get the Master G 3.5 V6 version with the 6 speed conventional auto.Use a bit more fuel, but as above the 2.4's aren't exactly frugal either. The other option is to look at the 1800 S model in the Runx and Allex - not quite as powerful as the 2.4 Blade, but good economy, conventional auto box, and adequate power even if not earth shattering.

I have sold lots of the 2.4 Blade. Is afar superior vehicle to an 1800 Runx/Allex. Nothing wrong with Toyotas Gear box, provided you service it, same as any mechanical product.

Paul my comment re the CVT transmission was not made with respect to reliability - I just don't simply like CVT transmissions at all, whatever car they are in - it was not a comment re the quality of the product - they are tops no question about it.In my case I just simply don't like CVT transmissions in anything, that is what I meant by my comment. It was an indicator of personal preference.I would happily sell the product on it's merits to anyone - no problems whatsoever.
