what are the chances aye. Left low beam went two days ago. Ive been flat out and didnt get a chance to replace it. Tonight the right low beam died too, so sorry guys who encountered me on my way home, I had no option but high beam. And to the taxi driver who couldn't seem to get the message that my lights were either off or high beam, you're a pretty slow learner it seems but keep flashing me, its going to help heaps. Better get some new bulbs tomorrow aye. I thought it was a bit weird for them to go so close together, they are about two years old - osram nightbreakers.

Make sure your new ones have gold/brass coloured terminals, that means they are the newer plus versions, which last longer
i fitted some 80% brighter H4 ones . in europe they cost like 15 bux from likes of bunnings. herethey want loads more for what ever strange reason.

check the charge rate and regulator cuttoff values, maybe coincidence both went close together but 2 at 2 years old!, most would be a lot longer than that and not pop 2 in a month, voltage fluctuations would be the first thought, 16-18V on occasion, but could also be a spike from another circuit/s, (indicator + brakes + wipers - intermittent, maybe a fault in somewhere else punching a surge back

Mmmmmmm going with a short/ spike/ poor or busted earth on this 1.
lost 1 of 2 number plate lights last month (yawn ho hum oh well yea fix that later) Took my trailer in for a wof last month. Did a precheck before going down & alls well, got there & BOTH brake lights had blown on the truck + 1 backing light.
Traced it a few days later to a fractured earth wire in the tailgate. So far so good . MMMm must check that again soon aye.

Osram only rate the Nightbreakers at about 1/3 the life span of standard H4 bulbs.
You may as well keep driving around like that, heaps of people do that. No worse than all the ones with badly adjusted driving lamps/spots. Probably lucky you didn't meet any trucks coming the other way.

Why wouldn't two bulbs blow near enough together! They are both on the same amount of time each (o:

Check the battery voltage with the engine running. The voltage regulator in the alternator might have failed or the sense wire has broken / become disconnected somehow.

Use something else for hunting/shooting on rough tracks on dip.
