i have a live rear axle on my car, i was thinking ofbending the axle housing either side of the diff carrier to give myself -ve camber , how many deg or minutes would i need to make a noticeable difference,i'm not sure how far the axle would move on the splines, i suppose the more wear the better .

Isn't this just going to wreck your wheel bearings!

You can do it by heat shrinking the top of the axle tube.
-1 degree is about as far as you can go AFAIK.
Floating axles would be an advantage as you could go mad (if you wanted to. which would promote under steer of course)

no, possibly more like destroy diff side gears/bearings in no time at all if go to far

shouldn't do, as long as there is enough play in the axle splines, so as not to load up any of the bearings. have you tried this idea U J !

did it on my Mk1 race car, had floating hubs, never had any problems in 10 years

Did it once also . but unintentionally. Was decades ago, was closer to 20 than I was to 30 and I knew everything. Me and a mate had a go at narrowing a diff with an angle grinder and an arc welder. One side looked funny . the side we dealt to, lol!
