So, I was thinking about getting one of those inflatable pools, 3 meter diameter holds nearly 3,000 litres of water. Will it break my deck!
(I'm putting this in here because a lot of tradies are car enthusiasts)
Cheers.

well a liter is a kg so its 3000 plus the humans inside the pool and the waight from the pool it self. I would say not wise . unless you got a ultra strong deck its like stacking 2 cars on top of each other with people inside on your deck.

That would depend entirely on how the deck is constructed! Don't forget, 1ltr of water= 1kg. Full, that pool will weigh 3 tonne
.or do you mean the deck of a ute lol

Can your deck carry 3 tons! Bit hard for anyone to work out whether it will work as you haven't described your deck. I guess you have a concrete deck painted green!

well you probably want a few plywood sheets. and if it brakes you got a reason to rebuild it

Yes to adding ply sheets (o:

If it breaks, I'll just make it look good with a few nails and a bit of gorilla glue, then it'll be the next tenants problem ;-)

keep in mind the bigger pools must conform to the fencing act BS
i know its mostly stupid but we all know what the media will do if a kid sneaks in and drowns

Yea it will handle it easy. Looks to be just bearers on the ground and decking timber over the top.

Correct. 1ltr water = 1KG PLUS it's a moving/surging mass so will push the deck sideways as well as downwards force PLUS . humans

Yep, sit some ply sheets on there 1st, then poly sheets over that to protect from sharp edges.

what are the ply sheets going to do! the load is already spread by the pool floor over the same area.

Bracing (o:

Brace it from side ways movement, like you brace a wall (o:

not over the whole area. it would just be stronger with ply i think!i dunno im just a painter:)

If the pool is 300 mills deep, the pressure/load will be 3 kilos per 100 mm square. should handle it easily I'd think, given that it looks to be built on the ground. Put a bucket of water on the deck and see if it falls through the planking.

Ply will give it smoth surface to prevent tears /punctures,needs fence on other 2 sides & councilconsentmore $$$

Yep bracing. As a deck, it's all slates With the ply sheets, it'sa single slab

Aren't shallow pools exempt! And if it does need a permit and fence, I think that fence that is there won't qualify. I think it has to be climb proof, which that one probably isn't if it has horizontal rails on the other side.

Anything deeper than 40cm high, and lower than 1.2 metres (I think that's the height) requires fencing.

Nah should be all good can I watch when you fill it up and do you mind if I video it!
bill-robinson,

As you were, sorry I did not see the photo of the deck.

It's not a pool. it's an oversized beer chiller, right!
