The long weekend

chevcamaro, Oct 18, 8:33pm
to all you people going away this holiday be safe out there, be aware of others faster or slower, remember only a 5 kph tolerance, and have a great time, take a rest if you need it, wherever you are going it will still be there no mater what time you get there

ok Bob,thanks for your concern. You should move to hawkesbay,we all got the day off for the local a&p show plus the monday as well,4 days off sweet!

johnf_456, Oct 19, 10:18am
Great advice, if only people did take there time

msj23, Oct 19, 10:19am
This is true John

morrisman1, Oct 19, 10:22am
its a 1km/h tolerance once you take into account the published inaccuracies of the police radar unit.

Tips for long weekend travelling - wet roads can be slippery, worn wiper blades are bad, headlights are good in rain, full beam headlights can blind people- day OR NIGHT, rear foglights are good in fog or seriously heavy rain, but INFURIATING when left on. Indicating right when going straight through a roundabout is annoying and moronic.

full beam headlights can blind people- day OR NIGHT: agreed especially motorcyclists.

fiatracer, Oct 19, 10:42am
same with rear fogs! seems most people don't even know what they are.

.and can you clarify for us all regarding how this tolerance comes down to your claim. You may be correct but would like to be convinced.Cheers

i just hope you all have a great weekend and everyone can still be here posting on tuesday,, and we don't donate to much to the blue bottles donut club

thewomble1, Oct 22, 1:47am
I thought it was 4km tolerance.

flack88, Oct 22, 6:20am
Exactly womble, who the f.k would know !, just sit at about 78kph,as close to the centreline as humanly possible, and dont forget to put your foot hard up it as soon as you see, passing lane 400metres,and lift your slipper as soon as it runs out,and you will never get a ticket, and dont forget to *555 all the 'dangerous' drivers trying to pass you!

r15, Oct 22, 6:47am
I see we drive on the same roads

morrisman1, Oct 22, 7:09am
The police use the stalker dual radar. This has published margin of error of ±3km/h when used from a moving vehicle. take this into account and your 4 km/h tolerance comes down to 1 km/h. You could be doing 1km/h over the speed limit in real terms and get pinged. thats 1% over the speed limit!

chebry, Oct 22, 7:25am
Still no excuse car speedos read fast anyway by about 10kms
