Help with choice.

I am tossing up between the following (all early-mid 2000's with 65,000-115,000 on clock) and around $6,500-$7,500.I want reliable and fuel efficient and low costs for parts. What would you steer clear of and why! - Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Holden Astra, Honda Stream.

Thanks.

probably the best be still the corolla from that list unless it was never serviced .

Personally I would buy a Honda Civic.

Corolla is just boring and I can't think of any good enough reason to buy one. Astra have questionable build quality, style and reliability and Stream is just odd.

I know very little about cars and dont' have a man to ask; will talk to my mechanic though, but I have been told to steer clear of CVT.Are any of these models CVT please!

corolla or civic, corolla is probably the one. any one you must get a service, oil change, gearbox oil change and engine/radiator corrosion inhibitor.

Is it true that corolla is the cheapest of all the parts; even cheaper than Honda! Are any of these cvt!

It is possible to get an imported Honda Civic with a CVT, but they also come with a regular staged transmission so if you don't want a CVT just check the specific car, you will know the moment you drive it anyway. You should not be put off by CVT, they are a very good transmission. I don't think any of the others are CVT, certainly the Corolla is certain to have an old-school 4 stage transmission.
