Ok Auckland you've got the V8's and for me(an out of Aucklander) who is keen to attended where is going to be the best areas to try and get accomodation to avoid the rumoured traffic problems when thousands of petrol heads flock to the event. Please sensible suggestions not witty comments like AT HOME or AWAY.Many thanks

Waiuku is another option.

It's a fairly substantial town just to the west of Pukekohe.

Plenty of accomodation around the Auckland Airport and plenty under $100/ night. I think about 45 -50 minutes from Pukekekohe.
