WOW . what a MAN
1000kph in the 1st 32 seconds
From 39km's UP & landed back on his feet
Must be the fastest unassisted speed record yet.
Certainly the highest freefall.
By the time they add up all of the records he's broken in this flight, they will need a book JUST for that.

He should of had a rota he would have been quicker lol

That was for FP

mrfxit, Oct 15, 7:17am
LOL yea whatever .>>> <<<

Watched it on the news this morning.

splinter67, Oct 15, 7:22am
Me too stuff that still cant understand why you would jump from a perfectly good air craft

mrfxit, Oct 15, 7:54am
Some of the data collected will go along way towards personal recovery in emergency ejections from space.
Re-entry systems etc etc.

AND THE PHOTO'S ;-)

msj23, Oct 15, 10:45am
its insane! He pretty much jumped from near the edge of space, thats so fearless

motorboy2011, Oct 15, 10:58am
Try base jumping. Fearless is jumping close to the ground with no backup, not 39km up with a huge amount of $$$ behind you. Not to say what he did was not dangerous and doesn't take balls though!

1ollie, Oct 15, 11:12am
Meh not that cool really especially with all the flash gear, technology, money and ground control crew, Joseph Kittinger did a similar feat in 1960 which is much more impressive with what technology they had then:

*Cough*^ ^ ^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^ ^^ ^ ^^ ^ ^^

You 2 REALLY don't understand . do you!

motorboy2011, Oct 15, 11:53am
I understand fully, it's just my definition of big balls differs from yours.

sr2, Oct 15, 11:53am
LOL; "there is none so blind."

mrfxit, Oct 15, 11:59am
LOL, so dropping at over 12000KPH ISN'T dangerous enough for your definition of "big balls"! & only a chute to catch you!
LOL yea whatever >>>

1ollie, Oct 15, 12:04pm
Pretty sure I do but hey been known to have others think I don't heheha.
Just no where near as impressive as some think it is!

1ollie, Oct 15, 12:06pm
Wow so hes doing 12000kph now! shit that is a big jump from 1200kph they said he did lol

mrfxit, Oct 15, 12:34pm
LOL bite me >>>>> so you couldn't understand & forgive me for accidentally placing ONE too many zero's in the number . WHHHoooopeee
Pathetic

**********
To be fair, he had to be going OVER 1,236 kph to break the sound barrier ;-)~

whqqsh, Oct 15, 12:35pm
he holds/has held several base jumping records too, so id say he's covered the range

mrfxit, Oct 15, 12:38pm
I don't really care what other ppl think of his "ball's" in doing this . . you WON'T catch me jumping off a step, 39km's up off the Earth even with a high tech parachute to stop me later.

bill-robinson, Oct 15, 12:44pm
yeah, well everything is bigger, better, and faster in the US of A.

mrfxit, Oct 15, 12:45pm
LOL . Ummm yea & it often is, just more expensive to run as well

1ollie, Oct 15, 12:48pm
lol didn't think you would bite at that lame attempt haha.

Get Redbull to pay for my training and the mission an I will do it but 500m-1km higher to beat his record of course haha! it would be an awesome buzz. and yes no one is EVER going to pay for me to do it but still I am keen

morrisman1, Oct 15, 12:54pm
Speed of sound is highly dependant on the temperature of the surrounding air. Speed of sound at 60,000 feet is only 1060km/h

mrfxit, Oct 15, 12:58pm
True but they already had his required speed mapped out so that was the only variation of limits that mattered in his conquest (gone beyond an attempt now)

mrfxit, Oct 15, 1:00pm
morrisman1, "here are three useless numbers in aviation: Runway behind you, altitude above you, and fuel in the tanker"

NOT useless at all, they are ALL numbers that help you to plan forward events

morrisman1, Oct 15, 1:07pm
Oh FFS, do you have to be so pedantic!

motorboy2011, Oct 15, 5:21pm
Actually air resistance will have played a far bigger role than slowing his speed than the chute will have. To be honest I was far more impressed by a post here last week showing a Kawasaki going around the neuringburg (spelling) ring
