Model T runabout. An old (now deceased) uncle restored one years ago!)And you doubted Jazz!Check again but use google and simply type in Model T Runabout. However I am sure jazz will understand your apology will probably not be expressed openly.Understanding fellow that he is!

LOL, I do try to be understanding. I just don't always succeed!

BTW, my Father bought a turtle deck (not to be confused with Steve Jobs favorite clothing) for a Model T runabout some years go. He sold it on though as was restoring a similar vintage Buick at the time.

I have a great Uncle (still living) who has restored many Model T's. He used to be the go to man for rewinding Model T Coil's too, probably serviced most of the coils in Model T's in this country by now.

There's some useless trivia for you!

Gulp!Wasn't the same uncle was it!Nah, can't be!I went to his funeral and I am positive it was him in the box.

just picked up a '97 Saxo. 1.6i - 4 stage auto, airbag, cent' locking, ABS, P/S, only 137'ks, 2 owners full service history. $1800 from trade me. There was NOTHING from any other marquee Jap or otherwise that provided as much car for cash as this. P.s. no-one is laughing, they're all a little green.

We got a mazda demio, brilliant little car, 1990 done 70k for 4k, all the airbags and other safety features, cruises 100kph no probs. Only problem is the back seats are a bit hard.

robotnik, Oct 12, 7:44pm
You bought a 1990 Mazda for $4000! And it had airbags! I guess you probably mean 2000, as there wasn't a Demio until 1996.

thejazzpianoma, Oct 13, 4:35pm
LOL, no different guy I am sure, although he is getting on a bit now. Chatted to my Father about him not that long ago actually. You have me curious now as to whether he still has some "T's" he did last time I was down visiting.

I have a 95 mazda familia very reliable wee car and great on gas. 29 MPG round town running.

johnf_456, Oct 14, 8:30am
I take it you have not driven a comfortable car made in Japan.

thejazzpianoma, Oct 14, 8:37am
Crikey, that's not anything to write home about, I could get 43 mpg over a tank of around town deliveries for our shop.
The newer, safer and better equipped Punto can be had in budget too.

thejazzpianoma, Oct 14, 8:41am
This has ABS, 6 airbags, pre-tensioners, and a well designed passenger safety cell!
Not being rude, but you can do a lot better safety wise for your money and cruising at 100km/h is hardly setting the bar very high, this is not India.

LOL . a lot of the early imports ARE as described.
There was some pretty freaky "Japan only" variations brought in to NZ in the early years & still some these days
