The article falls a bit short of the actual fault. I had the TSB come through yesterday. The master switch in some cases may get a notchy feeling and if a spray in lube is used it has the potential to cause an internal short (smoking) but this will only result in blowing a power window fuse. So replacment master switches all round yaaaa.

Oh and as for "potential to cause an internal short" how many times have you spilt coke on ya master switch and seen it go up in smoke lol. Bit like the relay rod campaign on Hilux as old as 1988 a few years back. It all helps to get Toyota drivers back into the dealerships.

Fair enough gadgit3, it is a very large recall though. Quite stunned.
The fault itself seems like a bit of a non event. But heck, thats a lot of cars.
