Audis.

I love the look of them and their rep. However I have learned not to listen to hype. Are they good reliable cars! Maintained well do they deliver! Are they expensive to be serviced etc etc. Have a subaru and looking at selling and buying an A4; don't want a gutless wonder tho.

Oh you'll be hearing plenty when jazz sees this thread.

Watch the transporter movie's,you can drown one in a lake, get towed out with a tractor then start up and drive off. They must be good, yeah right.

That's helpful.

Nice cars (well the higher end models) but when they break they can be rather expensive. Then again, you do get a lot of car for your money.

Then again I assume you have a Twin Turbo Subaru. So you would be use to spending money.

Nope, I have a Forester. And I am used to spending money on the darn thing. I want a good reliable car.that will be looked after, serviced etc and won't break down every time I look sideways at it. Well, that's a bit harsh but it is costing me more than it should.

There is something about Euro cars that keeps you buying them. I think its the lack of road noise. They are so much more insulated. Everything seems thicker, the glass, the door rubbers, the carpet, the underlay.

Mmmmmmm, yes, I have also been looking at the mazda 6 station wagon (I have a dog). Not that many 2/3 yo ones on the market. A good sign!

Leases and warranties have not run out yet. wait till mid next year. there will be plenty. Meanwhile, have a look at a 5 series BMW wagon. Nice ride. 528i or bigger. the 328 is also very good.

awoftam, Oct 22, 8:00pm
Ohhhhhhh no, sorry edangus; BMWs haven't got a good rep and the 3 people I know who have had them would never have another; however they have all been second hand (around 3 years old).

edangus, Oct 22, 8:07pm
Fair enough. Go for the Audi.or dare I say a VW.

awoftam, Oct 22, 8:11pm
Yea thought about those too; same car de-speced (sp)

jane310567, Oct 23, 7:04pm
we have a 2000 A6 quattro and is has cost us a very pretty penny for servicing! Nice car tho!

desmodave, Oct 24, 5:46am
Whats it cost you and for what ! Do you use an Audi agent for your servicing !

paul861, Oct 24, 7:52am
mates got a 99 A8(!) awesome car to drive, but it eats tyres and r+m isnt cheap

awoftam, Oct 24, 6:47pm
A4. However think I may pass and go for a newish mazda 6 s/w; unfortunately practicalities must come into play.
