Not much wrong with BMC, but there was something seriously wrong with BLMC.

Can't be too hard on BLMC, when they it was formed the company was already on the way out, had workers that just didn't feel like working, no funds to re-invest and innovation hampered by lack of funds (i.e. the car needs to use the doors from this car as we can't afford new dies, this car needs to use this engine as we can't afford to design a new engine etc). But saying that some of the theirs were daring for the time like the Princess, but some were just boring like the Marina.

BLMC wasn't just BMC, it was every dying British manufacturer forced to work as one company - BMC, plus Rover, Triumph, Jaguar and the only one making money, Leyland. It didn't have a hope of surviving. They did the same thing with the motorcycle industry and lumped it altogether as Norton Villiers Triumph.

I done some hard miles in a new '73 Mastiff carting coal at Ohai, 17 ton average load, 28 loads a day, pit to the screens. That little truck never let me down.
