The W202 (93-01) models. Are these reliable in general. What are the four cylinder engines like! Anyone had any experience !

My old man has a V6 C240 sport he bought brand new in 1997. It's now got 620,000 k on it. It's had a few things replaced on it and the interior is now pretty tired but engine and trans still original and going strong. He doesn't exactly nana it either.

Most of the W202are good and reliable. Earlier models did suffer from disintegrating wiring loom and expensiveto replace. I had mine replaced about 18 months ago. Very comfortable and surprisingly frugal on fuel. A good source of info mercededes Benz forums

I've done a few miles as a passenger in a c200 and find it a most underwhelming vehicle. The seats are not comfortable - too hard, and although the cabin noise is low and it rides pretty good it feels a most un-natural place to be in. Interior quality is pretty average and performance is nothing special, the transmission appears to be awful. Youtube suggests they dont crash very well and well overall, the only reason I can see someone buying one for is so they can see the emblem on the end of the bonnet.
For all the hype that people owners talk about Mercedes vehicles, I dont think that it applies much to their budget models.

And you've never driven one - just love the calibre of experts we have on here. Like all those experts who rubbish Harleys, but have never ridden one.

yeap, I was giving my opinion as a passenger in one, and that is as valid as a driver's opinion. I rubbished the car from my opinion, Notice I didnt comment on how it drove, because I cannot.

Wow, you are some orsum passenger man, to know as much about a car as the driver - have you tried the back seat, my mother in law is an expert back there.
