Anyone had this problem! Screen is basicaly the clock/date/OAT and radio display. has become unreadable. Still figuring out how to remove it from the dash. Is there anywhere new screens can be sourced! Dismantlers have them but they cant say if working or not.

A common problem I believe. The new replacement is some $600ish!

Have all your engine sensors crapped out yet as well!

There's a repair guide for them here if you're good with a soldering iron: http://members.home.nl/opeltje/mid%20reparatie.htm

Or if you search on eBay for "Triple Info Display" there are some for sale for less than $100.

Re the repair guide, there's an important update about it here: http://tinyurl.com/93vmslr(but read the comment at the end too).

Thanks guys, your comments and links certainly shed light on the subject-brilliant.Have only recently purchased this 1 owner car, 64k on the clock and been a garage queen. I often assumed these screens could possibly deteriorate due excess exposure to direct sunlight/heat but in this case may have been a bad batch of LCD cards that GM received. And pico42 - no, not as far as I'm aware of but early days yet.
