Yep another dreamer that thinks old run of the mill jap imports with low kms are worth silly money (that one has been listed for quite a while) for $13500 i'd be wanting something reasonably fun to drive

andy61, Nov 2, 7:02am
Notthat it makes any difference, but that Silvia is a NZ new car ie sold here as a brand new car sold by Nissan NZ.This dealer sold a Princess for silly money recently, who would want a Princess!

murray55, Nov 2, 7:12am
Agree .and the real mystery is that some actually do sell !Seems some sellers think anything a little old is worth big $$$ irrespective of what it actually is, or in what condition, and there is always one mug out there who takes the bait, offers a bit less, and walks away with a "real bargain" .when they should in fact be offering to buy at a tenth of the asking price, because that is all some of these pieces of junk are worth !

sifty, Nov 2, 7:14am
it's tidy.

it's also old, ugly and automatic.

dave653, Nov 2, 7:25am
Each to thier own I spose.

robotnik, Nov 2, 10:57am
That car looks like it is brand new!

I guess if it was some sort of British or American car you'd all be saying how amazing it was, wouldn't you! Anyway, these days old Japanese cars can be highly desirable so get over it.

sifty, Nov 2, 12:03pm
What, like a 1980 Morris marina, or Mk V cortina you mean!
Or a 1980 Buick LeSabre!

No thanks.

rovercitroen, Nov 2, 12:08pm
That dealer is known for asking moonbeams for everything he sells.

murray55, Nov 2, 12:42pm
What exactly is "highly desirable" about it ! Performance nah, handling nah, looks nah, build quality nah, .just because there are few around does not make a vehicle "highly desirable" . sellers need to get real about their listings .these old Japs are bad enough, but pale into comparison with the old Aussie crap that are often advertised for many many $1000's !

murray55, Nov 2, 12:43pm
I know .how he manages to sell anything at some of those prices is beyond me !

mrfxit, Nov 2, 12:43pm
Did I see that correctly . snow tyres!

pico42, Nov 2, 1:13pm
Agreed price between a willing buyer and willing seller in an open market is an accurate way to determine the value.

hatchback, Nov 2, 2:33pm
MMMM! 13k to spend.2005 V8 Commie or an old Datsun.hard choice allright

strawman, Nov 2, 2:41pm
For whatever reason, some people just might want that car. I know I'd really love to own a nice mint RX3 coupe now, as that was my first car. Sadly most RX3's have been boy racered.I do remember how bloody uncomfortable it was on a long trip!

jkm, Nov 2, 4:00pm
I think most 80s vehicles were ugly. Jap, Brit, Aus, or USA.

dave653, Nov 2, 4:11pm
Yeah, it's a dud alright. Take a reasonable car, remove suspention, fit big ugly rims, hang a slapper all overit, attempt to sell for too much.

dave653, Nov 2, 4:14pm
Christ, the '80 looks grose. My '69 model looked a hell of a lot better!

pebbles61, Nov 2, 4:24pm
I doubt he sold it for that much and I would love a Princess, but his price was just crazy.

murray55, Nov 2, 5:25pm
Haha likewise. Reckon they think of a price then add another zero !

chebry, Nov 2, 5:34pm
Itsa $1 reserve car if it sells great its gone last mug bidding owns it.

sabbath-black, Nov 2, 6:22pm
.another angle on this could be.how much would the common be worth in ten years, compared to the ugly datto!

nicolaas3, Nov 2, 6:29pm
Crazy pricing yes.but the other way to think about it is the cost of rust removal / panel beating / painting of a typical car that old. Easily will hit $20k. So if you are in the market to have a semi vintage car like that it could work out not too bad.

jason18, Nov 2, 6:33pm
Or another angle. How much more fun would you have in that 10 years in the commie compared to the datsun

sabbath-black, Nov 2, 7:07pm
.good point

hatchback, Nov 2, 7:59pm
Exactly.would have used alot more gas and distroyed many more tires with the Commie.but someone has to beat the hell outa a V8 Commie as they were made for
