Watched the 1971 movie (James Taylor in a '55 Chev). Movie going along slowly, great cars to see in the background - but all of a sudden it ended strangely. Left me wondering what 'point' I had missed. (Easy Rider also had a 'sudden' ending but was logical although sad and a shock when first viewed).

ended with a final drag, then the film slows down till it stops right!

Yep.drag slows, then Taylors head begins to turn into red/yellow 'fire' effect - then titles come up.odd indeed - Don't hardly remember highschool, never mind what I did there.!

Top movie , no rubbish dialogue apart from GTO talking trash . That was the real deal withthe opening street race scenes .

the best movies from this era were "vanishing point" "deliverance" "american Graffitti" and "Zebriskie Point" the last of which was ahead of it's time but was basically anti globalisation .ohh & don't forget"Woodstock"

it tells you in the "extras"why it ends that way (film supposedly melting in projector) i watched the explaination but cant remember the jist of it. had something to do with artistic license.love the chevy.i've meet ppl that bs like "gto".lol
