Heaps of people seem to get aggro when they get honked at, even if its just to remind them to go if lights are green etc

What do you guys do! Once saw a guy get honked at the lights to tell him to go and he pulled over and got behind the car that honked him and held the horn down for ages. I was behind the two dudes and almost lost my hearing!

Gotta watch out for that aggro

I either look around wondering what the hell Ive done wrong or is it aimed at me

OMG do they not have any road rules in india! wtf is up with that!

intrade, Nov 6, 6:30pm
na thats normal in india . you know what they test on a wof its only the horn must work. and the most common cause for a accident is the steering wheel fell off. india is a whole different world of its own. they also think they get reincarnated so they overtake on every blind corner .

plenty more you think they are all having a death wish .

If I'm in a good mood I wave and smile, if I'm grumpy they get the finger.

I think we are just really impatient in the West.I was at this intersection recently, and nobody gets uptight or irritated and there aren't even any lights. And hardly anyone honks their horn.I did think I was going to die though, and I screamed alot, LOL.

Omg i cant believe indian driving

msj23, Nov 6, 6:40pm
That is the most unstructured driving i have ever seen, no wonder asians are absolutely terrible at driving!

luxy, Nov 6, 6:45pm
wave and smile it really gets them going

johnf_456, Nov 6, 6:53pm
Ignore them and carry on, that really gets them upset.

pebbles61, Nov 6, 7:08pm
In the example of missing a green light by a couple of seconds, it depends how the horn is honked, most of the time people seem to sit on the horn really hard and is just plain rude as opposed to a little 'beep beep' use of the horn. One time I stalled my car when learning to drive and missed the light, guy behind me was sitting on his horn, I was *this close* to getting out aye and asking him what his problem was, did the big gay 'L-plates' not give you a clue! :P but i got the car under way and all was well again.

socram, Nov 6, 7:36pm
Me too.Quite why people get so aggro when they are clearly the ones in the wrong is one of life's (local) mysteries.

tahnasha, Nov 6, 7:55pm
It does seem to flow quite well though.

200sx, Nov 6, 7:58pm
Give them the bird and a flurry of abuse.

pebbles61, Nov 6, 7:59pm
So true, the amount of times I get given the bird after I have given a honk on the bike 'horn' (bike horns are so pussy lol) when cut off is amazing. People won't admit any fault.

un_known, Nov 6, 8:23pm
i doubt anyone could get aggro at my mx5's horn.sounds like a meek female version of the roadrunner.

morrisman1, Nov 6, 8:29pm
I just do a skid

pebbles61, Nov 6, 8:43pm
I cry myself to sleep that night lol

I have a friend that spends time in Ho Chi Min city for work. he was telling me how to survive driving there.
If you are driving, hire the biggest car you can. size appears to have right of way.
When you decide where you are going, drive there, doesnt seem to matter what side of the road, what way up a street, just drive there.
Do what others do around you.
DONT ever look someone in the eye, it isnt dangerous, it just acknowledges to them that you have seen them, and they assume that you have also given way to them, and they will go.
Believe it or not, he travels there as he is in the "health and safety advise" industry.
He also said with taxi's, when the trip is done, and the price announced. he uses the "but yesterday, for the same trip, it was $X cheaper!" - Generally the price start to come down.

icemans1, Nov 6, 9:47pm
i just wave to them like i know them

trogedon, Nov 7, 7:27am
Very occasionally I get tooted at when I'm on my bicycle. If I've got the self control I wave and smile (boys). They hate it and if they're close the (attempt to) abuse starts. That's when I cuckle ;-)

nuberanda, Nov 7, 7:44am
The busy parts of Hanoi, Vietnam are the same. It took me a day or two to learn to cross the street :-). I didn't dare in Hanoi, but hired scooters in other parts of Vietnam, that was a lot of fun for a 21 year old

blackdotlova, Nov 7, 12:27pm
If it not in front of me, the honk wont be for me IE i have not cut anyone off,
As i am the perfect driver and no one needs to honk at me

johnf_456, Nov 7, 1:04pm
you must be a machine since you don't ever make a mistake while tired exhausted, you name it.
