Don't know where to go to from here.

I had gone to view a car through a private sale that was $4000.Upon viewing it was advised to me that the sunroof didnt quite close properley but was waterproof. This is correct, but since he had his own company repairing cars etc he could get the parts I needed to do the repairs from Nissan at a cost of $200.I paid him the $200 for him to order the part and I would be back in a couple days once banks were open to pick up the car which I paid $4000 for on the understanding and agreement that he would place the order and install for me at no extra cost.

I collected the car a couple of days later and after not hearing from him for nearly a month I text him asking how the part was coming along.Part was there and I could bring the car in when I was ready, I brought it in that weekend and due to him "not being able to put in because of bad weather" he eventually attempted installation but was the wrong part and he would order the correct one at his cost.

After fustration on my part I contacted him and said that I wanted to collect the car, as it had been sitting on his lawn for 2 months and I had paid for it in full,I would return it when part arrived. At that stage I questioned how the new part was coming along. He had not been able to source the correct part yet.

I collected the car that evening and contacted him everyweek for about a month asking where he was at with it and even tried to look for the part myself on Trademe.

Now he is refusing to take my calls, return any voicemail or txts I make.I drive past his premises twice a day and his gate is always shut and you cant open it from the outside.

Obviously I am annoyed because I paid him asking price on agreement of the part being installed, plus the $200 for the part itself.

So I guess I'm just a stupid girl for trusting this person and now I don't know where to go to from here.I have been battling this for almost 5 months. I should probably cut my losses and move on, or is there something else I could do.

Any advice appreciated.

If I were you right now I would move on. This guy isnt going to help you no matter how much you persist.
Mean,unfair,dishonest,lying,ro-
bbing bastd maybe, he still wont help.
For your own sanity thank your lucky stars it doesnt leak and make another plan. I wouldnt even waste more time getting the parts from him. live without the sunroof or get a friend to fix it.
Certain people will do this to you if they get the chance, bet you wont do the same next time

Collect the car. seal up the sunroof using thick high temp grease or petroleum jelly and wait for the correct part to arrive

Its a 1994 Nissan Silvia. The sunroof doesnt shut properly and I was told it was the seals that needed to be replaced, but I think its the whole sunroof
